Now you can use thumbnails and Icons to enhance your button links.

Using thumbnails and icons to enhance your links. 

When you add a link to your LinkBossPro Biolink page using the “Link” option, a button is added to your page. You can customize this button’s colour, border, animation, text and shape. 

Additionally, you can add a custom thumbnail or icon to each button. 

Custom thumbnails and icons can make your link button look unique and on-brand. In this article, you will learn how to add thumbnails and icons and the difference between the two.

Click “Add a Link” and select the “Link” option. Then enter the destination URL and the name. The name will appear on the button. If you need help with adding a link, or customization of other elements, click here

If you selected a template when creating your Biolink page, you will most likely have one link already on your page, similar to the image below.

Once you have customized the link button text, destination URL, button colour, background and border you can decide to add a thumbnail or icon to your link button to enhance it further. 

What are Thumbnails?

Thumbnails are personalised images that you can add to your link button that provide context, style and unique identity to your link button. Below are a few link examples where thumbnails have been added to the link button.

How to add a thumbnail 

Click on the link that you want to add a thumbnail to, or click the 3 dots on the right-hand side and then select “Edit”. Then scroll down to the section titled “Image Thumbnail” and click “Upload”.

Next select the image that you want to add as a thumbnail and click “open”. 

Your selected image will now load in the image resizer. Select the area you want and click “Save” when done.

Finally, click “Update” to save the changes. Your thumbnail will now appear on your button as shown in the example below.

What Are Icons?

Icons are graphical images that associate certain images with certain actions. In the example below, the link button has a call to action for the user to email the person/entity and the icon selected reinforces the words by the graphical representation of mail.

How to add an icon to your link button

Click on the link that you want to add a thumbnail to or click the 3 dots on the right-hand side and then select “Edit”. Then scroll down to the section titled “Icon”. 

You can now scroll through the icons and select the icon that you would like to use or you can type the word that best describes your icon for example “mail” and see what options are available.

Once you find the icon that you want to use click on it to select it and then click “Update” to save the changes. Your icon will now display on your button.

If you wish to change the icon, delete all the text in the icon field and start again. Locate and select you preferred icon then click “Update” when done. 

Your page link buttons should now be customized and looking great. 

Adding thumbnails and icons to your link buttons and gives them a visual boost and will help increase engagement.

People are visual first and your custom thumbnail or icons or both can really enhance the effectiveness of your link buttons as well as their appearance.
